B2skool vs Edunext

B2skool vs Edunext

Both are Indian school systems. The difference that matters is not a feature list — it is the commercial shape: what the software costs before you have spoken to anyone, what happens when the term renews, and what you can walk away with.

Everything stated here about Edunext comes from public sources, linked at the foot of the page and checked on 28 October 2026. Products change — if something here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

What it costs to startNothing. The desktop edition is free on your own computer, with no student cap and no time limit, so there is no quote to wait for before you can use it.A recurring subscription. Their Terms describe payment "on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly basis depending on the final agreement with our team" and name no rate, tier or plan.source
Set-up and trainingManaged onboarding and data migration are inside the quote, as a figure, before you sign.A separate one-time charge on top of the subscription: "You must bear the one-time implementation and training charges." The charge is disclosed; the amount, and whether it scales with your strength, is not stated.source
Getting a priceSend strength, boards and campuses; the quote comes back the same working day, and it names next session’s renewal price too.Quote-only. Directory listings show a blank starting price and ask buyers to pick a student-count band before a quote is given.source
RenewalThe renewal price for the following session is agreed and written down at the start, not discovered at the end.Their Terms renew the subscription automatically unless the school cancels before the current period expires, and require "official prior notice" to discontinue without stating how much notice that means.source
The day you leaveExport everything, whenever you like — and keep running the free desktop edition on your own machine afterwards.Their Terms provide, on termination, that "all the data of the current year can be downloaded by CLIENT in MS Excel format". No earlier year and no other format is named, and the Terms do not say who owns the school’s data.source

What Edunext does well

  • They publish their Terms and Conditions openly. A surprising number of school vendors do not, and it means you can read the commercial terms before you sign rather than after.
  • By their own account they have been selling to Indian schools since 2012, which is a long time to survive in this market.
  • They ship parent apps on both app stores, which is more than many regional vendors manage.

If this is what your school needs, they are a reasonable choice and we would rather you knew that now than after an onboarding.

What we could not verify

  • Any price at all. No per-student rate, plan tier, flat fee or starting price for Edunext exists in any source we could retrieve.
  • The amount of the one-time implementation and training charge, or whether it scales with student count.
  • Whether SMS and WhatsApp messages are bundled into the subscription or billed per message, and at what rate. We found no rate card — and no documented complaint about SMS charges either, so we make no claim in either direction.
  • Whether Edunext charges an AMC. The words "AMC" and "annual maintenance" appear nowhere in their Terms, so we do not describe their model as licence-plus-AMC.
  • Whether an on-premise or self-hosted deployment is available. Their own material documents cloud hosting; third-party listings contradict each other.
  • Minimum contract term, the required notice period, refund terms and tax treatment. Their Terms set renewal cycles but state none of these.
  • Their support SLA. Their material says an SLA guarantees response times, but publishes no figure.
  • Any review-based quality verdict. The public review samples are small, mostly from 2022, and a 4.8/5 figure in their page markup names no review platform — so we do not treat it as independent.

We have left these out rather than guessing. Ask Edunext directly — and hold us to the same standard.

We do not publish a cloud rate card either — but you can start without one

It would be dishonest to make "they quote, we publish" the argument, because we quote too: strength, boards, campuses and migration volume genuinely move the number. The difference is what you can do while you wait. Our desktop edition is free, uncapped and permanent, so a school can install it this week, run admissions, receipts, attendance and report cards on it for a whole session, and only start the pricing conversation when it actually wants the parent app and online payments. With a subscription-only product there is nothing to use until a figure has been agreed.

What happens on the day you leave is a product decision

Edunext’s published Terms provide for the current year’s data, in a spreadsheet, on termination. We have no view on why that choice was made — but a school’s fee ledgers, marks and admission records go back further than one year, and a spreadsheet is not a system. Our position is the opposite and deliberately so: export everything at any time, and on the day you leave you keep running the free desktop edition on your own computer with your records still in it. We would rather earn the renewal than hold the archive.

The charge that lands after the signature

Their Terms are straightforward that a one-time implementation and training charge sits on top of the subscription. That is disclosure, not a hidden fee, and we want to be precise about the difference — we found no documented complaint about undisclosed charges anywhere. What is missing is the number: nothing published says what the charge is, or whether a 3,000-student school pays the same as a 300-student one. Our quote carries onboarding and migration as a stated figure alongside the subscription, because a cost you cannot size is a cost you cannot compare.

Straight answers

Switching from Edunext

Is B2skool cheaper than Edunext?

We cannot tell you, and anyone who does is guessing. Edunext publishes no price, so there is no figure to compare against. What we can say precisely: our desktop edition costs nothing at any strength, and our cloud quote arrives the same working day with next session’s renewal price in it.

Can we move our data from Edunext to B2skool?

Yes, and that is work we do rather than work you do. Send whatever you can export — their Terms provide for the current year in Excel — plus any older records you hold elsewhere, and our onboarding team cleans, maps and imports them, then hands the result back for you to verify against your own registers.

What if our Edunext subscription has not expired yet?

Run them side by side. Install the free desktop edition now, move the office onto it at a pace that suits you, and let the other contract finish. Nothing about the free edition requires you to cancel anything first.

Is this page fair to Edunext?

We have tried to make it so. Everything asserted here is quoted from their own published Terms or a named directory listing, dated and linked. Claims we could not source were dropped rather than softened, and the ones we could not establish are listed above rather than hinted at. If you find something here that is wrong or out of date, write to us and we will fix it.
